Summary
The Logistics Coordinator, Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing requests from customers, with the goal of meeting and exceeding customer expectations, while accurately tracking various shipment pick-ups to their final deliveries. The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment is critical. Execution of job duties will require a team-oriented individual that is customer service focused, and able to obtain a strong knowledge of systems and vendor capabilities. This individual will be an integral part of the coordination of transportation and operations for DSV Road Transport contractors, company drivers and customers.
Duties & Responsibilties
  • Dispatch drivers for U.S. Domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines.
  • Prioritize time sensitive cargo.
  • Works closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements.
  • Develops and maintains positive customer, contractor & company driver relationships.
  • Works directly with customers on the receipt and processing of transportation requests.
  • Utilizes various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning and scheduling.
  • Handles dispatch with contractors, company drivers and partner carriers.
  • Tracks and traces shipments from pick-up through delivery to ensure accurate and up-to-date shipment information is being provided to customers.
  • Ensures problem resolution; including identifying issues, applying critical thinking to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions.
  • Responsible for accurate data capture and system entry.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, contractors, company drivers, partner carriers and team members.
  • Promotes the DSV Road Transport brand.
  • Assists with new account start-ups.
  • Adheres to all domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Work Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; logistics or transportation experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role.
  • Experience coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers, and tracking freight through delivery.
  • Familiarity with transportation systems or dispatch software and strong data entry skills.
  • Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance, or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Proficient in typing and PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong English language skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication; Spanish is a plus.

Physical Demands
This position is primarily sedentary and requires extended periods of sitting while working at a computer workstation. The role involves frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be required. Vision abilities required include close vision for reviewing data, screens, and documentation.

The employee works in a fast-paced operational setting and may be required to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, respond to time-sensitive transportation issues, and maintain focus during periods of high activity. Extended hours may occasionally be required to support operational needs, driver scheduling, or service continuity.
