Laundry Aide Primary Responsibilities

The Laundry Aide is responsible for providing the full range of laundry services to the facility, staff and residents and to maintain a successful laundry program that meets facility quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities

Laundry Aide Essential Functions

  • Laundry Aide will follow established policies/procedures of laundry tasks
  • Use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department
  • Use proper protective clothing/equipment while performing laundry duties
  • Laundry Aide will maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and following the laundry department schedules
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times
  • Report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility's policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting system
Qualifications

Laundry Aide Qualifications

  • The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc in excess of 50 lbs
  • Must be able to do constant walking, bending, lifting and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift
