The major duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

ยท Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

ยท Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.

ยท Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.

ยท Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.

ยท Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.

ยท Communicates with shop foreman/service advisor/service manager immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

ยท Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

ยท Road tests vehicles when required.

ยท Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.

ยท Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.

ยท Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.

ยท Ensures that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Notifies Supervisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

ยท Keeps shop area neat and clean.

ยท Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools, computers, and manuals โ€“ (paper and electronic). Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.

ยท Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

ยท Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

ยท Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

ยท Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements:

Experience:

High school diploma or completion of vocational/technical school preferred or relevant experience in medium/heavy diesel maintenance

*Applicants must have a valid license and clean driving record and must pass a background check, DOT physical, and functional ability test. Class A or B CDL License is preferred.
