Job description

Fuel Transloading Operator

Valley Pacific Petroleum Services is hiring a full-time Fuel Transload Equipment Operator for our Visalia facility.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, with an emphasis on attention to detail, and a self-starter who operates effectively with little supervision. Job duties also include working hands-on with petroleum equipment, including but not limited to tanks, hoses, meters, heavy-duty equipment, trailers, etc.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates basic math and counting comprehension.
  • Possesses basic to intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with email.
  • Knowledge of the petroleum industry is a plus.
  • Acts in alignment with the company's Code of Ethics and Mission Statement.
  • Able and willing to respond to emergencies, urgent, or unusual situations (e.g., spill/mix cleanups, fires, accidents, urgent customer demands, weekend, holiday, and overnight assignments).
  • Remains calm and composed in demanding situations.
  • Accepts constructive criticism without becoming defensive.
  • Knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous when interacting with customers and suppliers.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with drivers, dispatchers, and management.
  • Receives instructions and orders courteously and efficiently.
  • Willingly takes on special assignments or tasks as needed.
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and effectively with others.
  • Handles company equipment with care, keeping it in good working condition and free from misuse, abuse, or rough treatment.
  • Understands and follows all loading and unloading procedures, processes, and policies.

  • Performs all assignments safely and efficiently, avoiding waste of time or company resources.
  • Receptive and adaptable to changes in work dynamics.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Participate in periodic training programs conducted by management personnel.
  • Complete and retain all necessary equipment operator certification.
