Job description

Surge Staffing is seeking Bilingual Creole/English Translators to support communication between employees and management at a manufacturing facility. Translators will assist with employee orientations, translate company documents and materials, support coaching and employee conversations, and help ensure important information is clearly communicated between Creole- and English-speaking employees.

This is a translator and employee-support position. Translators will not work on the production line.

The ideal candidate is fluent in Creole and English, communicates clearly and professionally, and can accurately interpret information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate Creole/English interpretation during employee orientations and training sessions

Translate company documents, policies, instructions, forms, and other employee materials

Assist with coaching and counseling conversations by providing clear and accurate interpretation

Help employees understand workplace policies, procedures, expectations, and safety information

Interpret conversations between employees, supervisors, and management

Assist with onboarding and orientation activities for new employees

Help communicate important workplace updates and announcements to Creole-speaking employees

Support employees who need assistance understanding company forms, instructions, or processes

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling employee information

Ensure translated information is communicated accurately without changing the intended meaning

Assist with resolving communication barriers between employees and management

Provide translation support during meetings, training sessions, and employee discussions

Work closely with supervisors and management to ensure effective communication

Perform other translation and employee-support duties as assigned

Qualifications

Fluent in Creole and English

Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages

Previous experience as a translator, interpreter, bilingual representative, or similar role preferred

Manufacturing or warehouse experience is helpful but not required

Ability to accurately translate and interpret information in a professional setting

Strong listening and interpersonal skills

Professional, dependable, and approachable

Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee information

Comfortable speaking with individuals and groups during orientations and training

Basic computer skills and ability to work with written documents and forms

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
