The Ross Lab develops universal vaccines designed to protect against multiple strains, variants, and types of viruses while reducing the need for frequent booster shots. Using its innovative Computationally Optimized Broadly Reactive Antigen (COBRA) technology, the lab creates long-lasting vaccines targeting seasonal influenza, swine and avian flu, COVID-19, and other respiratory viruses. In addition to its primary focus on influenza, the lab also conducts research on vaccines for cancer, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), HIV, and arboviruses, advancing next-generation vaccine strategies to improve protection against existing and emerging infectious diseases .As a Research Lab Program Manager I, you will initiate and manage research protocols, maintain regulatory, patient, and grant documentation, and develop workflows to ensure accurate data collection and entry into compliant databases. In this role, you will partner with the Principal Investigator to design research plans, assist with protocol and grant writing, serve as a liaison between research teams and clinical partners, mentor new team members, support grant budget development, and extract and compile EMR data for research publications.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
With guidance, develop, implement, and manage grant funded research study protocols and day-to-day research activities in less complex laboratory and/or clinical settings.
Analyze research study findings and share and interpret data with Principal Investigator.
Serve as a liaison between Principal Investigator, patient, clinical team, and other members of the research team.
Manage multiple priorities and projects with competing deadlines.
Allocate time to meet completion requirements.
Serve as a coach and mentor for other members of the research team.
Review and monitor study protocols to ensure compliance and completion of study related procedures.
Assist in grant writing including development of budget and human components.
Extract clinical data and prepare for analysis.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree in science, healthcare administration, public health or related field
Two years of experience in project management, data analysis and systems training in a research laboratory setting (This experience is usually obtained by working directly for a Principal Investigator in a basic or translational research laboratory)
Knowledge of research policies and procedures
Ability to develop research plans and/or protocols
Knowledge and expertise in federal, state, local and institutional research guidelines
Ability to implement these requirements in the research laboratory
Ability to multitask with direct patient contact, follow up laboratory values and discuss with PI, manage follow up appointments
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Advanced degree
Prior research experience in a lab
Grant Writing experience
Vaccine & Gene Therapy Experience
Physical Requirements:
Requirements include good near visual acuity and color acuity.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
