Job description

Position Overview:
Celanese is searching for a Senior Specialist, Project Manager based in the Americas. The Commercial Project Manager drives Innovation growth through Managing New Product Developments, Support Projects and Business Cases. The Commercial Project Manager will work directly the Account Development, Technology and Innovation, CTG, Quality and Planning teams to drive innovation. This person will be on site at the Florence, KY; Irving, TX; or Auburn Hills, MI location.
Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and deploys required resources to execute project through the lifecycle successfully and with desired velocity.
  • Monitor project plan by reviewing project design, specifications and schedule (review with supervisor if necessary), manages project gate change approvals.
  • Manages project costs & approvals for spend.
  • Resolves or escalates issues that might put project deliverables at risk.
  • Coordinate across functions to create launch packages, enabling the commercial team to meet translation plan.
  • Coordinate and execute training for product launch.
  • Push launches to meet pipeline expectation plan.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science or comparable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • MS Office required; Salesforce a plus.
  • Ability to resolve issues and optimize processes.
  • Ability to work in Cross-Functional environments.
  • Strong Problem solver.
  • Demonstrated persistence and resilience.
  • Ability to drive accountabilities, value, ownership and impact.
  • Works well, both individually and in a team environment, quick learner, self-starter.
