Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Own NPI manufacturing readiness for assigned AM parts, from early build through production release (process definition, planning, documentation, controls).
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing routers and production planning for new part introductions, including operation sequence, inspection points, and acceptance criteria alignment.
  • Define and validate process requirements for metal AM builds (critical-to-quality characteristics, key process parameters, process windows) in partnership with Quality and Engineering.
  • Establish/maintain machine programming and build setup standards (where applicable), ensuring programs, parameters, and revisions are controlled and production-ready.
  • Plan and execute build-to-build learning: capture issues, lead root cause, implement corrective actions, and document lessons learned into standard work.
  • Lead cross-functional execution of NPI deliverables (Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Facilities/EHS) to meet program cost, schedule, and quality targets.
  • Drive process capability and variation reduction using Six Sigma tools (baseline capability, identify drivers, implement controls, verify effectiveness).
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute waste reduction opportunities using Lean principles during ramp and stabilization (cycle time, yield, rework, scrap, WIP, material flow).
  • Own change management for NPI process maturation: coordinate ECO/PCO impacts, update documentation, and ensure training and readiness before release.
  • Support PFMEA/control plan/process control development (or equivalent risk/control methods) and ensure these are reflected in planning and training.
  • Train, qualify, and support production associates on new/changed processes; confirm adherence and escalate gaps through appropriate coaching/leadership channels.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing engineering experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience

  • Work in a highly organized, meticulous attention to detail, comfortable operating with limited direction within standard procedures
  • Continuous improvement with demonstrated initiative to learn quickly and improve processes without relying on formal training
