Objectives
Knox County Transit is seeking a dependable, customer-focused
Transit Driver to safely operate demand-response and shuttle vehicles throughout Knox County. Drivers are trusted ambassadors for our organization, providing exceptional service while ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably.

Essential Functions
As a Transit Driver, you will:
- Safely operate transit vehicles while following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport passengers on scheduled routes throughout Knox County.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service to riders of all ages and abilities.
- Assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, and other mobility devices.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate passenger counts, fare records, manifests, and route documentation.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, schedule updates, and passenger needs.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming vehicle for every rider.
- Dependable and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Standards
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications.
- Ability to safely assist passengers, including those with mobility devices.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service every day.
