Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Pharmacist, youโ€™ll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.
Every day, youโ€™ll build trust in these interactions by reviewing every prescription in your queue. We never rely entirely on the computer to check for safety; we always use an expert for the final check. Thatโ€™s you. Youโ€™ll review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies or anything that looks unusual in your opinion.
To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for our patients. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.

  • Demonstrates ability to document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings and other patient specific information as defined by policy and procedure.ย 
  • Interprets medication orders and/or prescriptions for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection and appropriateness. Accurately enters / verifies the order or prescription into the computer system, labels, and dispenses medications in a timely manner.
  • Verifies and checks medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.ย 
  • Communicates drug information to patients and health professionals. Resolves drug related problems by consulting with other health care professionals to achieve appropriate patient outcomes. Unclear orders written by a licensed provider are clarified with the licensed provider. Assists the licensed provider in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
  • Achieves and maintains an adequate basic knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served. Provides basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.ย 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of automated systems
