Job Description

Becton Dickinson's Medication & Supply Management Solutions combine technology with actionable intelligence targeting medication errors, clinician productivity, predictability of medication and supply availability, and organizational financial performance. At almost every point in the med use or supply chain management process, safety, efficiency, and costs can be impacted with BD's Pyxis, Alaris and HealthSight solutions.

  • Excels in a fast-paced healthcare sales-support role

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, including both hospital-based as well as care continuum medication management and supply chain processes. Has a thorough knowledge of nursing, pharmacy, and materials management practice/workflows, and BD's medication management dispensing, infusion, and supply solutions.

  • Expertly performs complex customer current state assessment and creates a compelling future state business case to meet customer's strategic objectives/vision.

  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with stakeholders (internal and external) to drive alignment on recommendations and proposed solutions. Possesses dynamic presentation skills and excellent business writing skills.

  • Demonstrates leadership by being customer focused

  • Displays strategic thinking, having a global and company mindset, focusing on results, skill growth, and continuous improvement.

  • Strategically works with sales and customer service organization to prioritize activities.

  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizes tasks based on organizational need and judgment, and is productive working independently in remote office situations.

  • Mentors internal staff regarding best demonstrated practices.

Accountabilities

  • Provides sales consultation and workflow analysis of existing processes within the medication management and supply chain systems. Identifies current areas of inefficiencies, patient/provider safety concerns, revenue augmentation, cost reduction, regulatory non-compliance, and drug diversion opportunities. Performs workflow redesign with practice change recommendations and accompanying BD solutions to facilitate achievement of best practices and customer strategic goals.

  • Provides clinical consulting support primarily for sales to develop customer specific strategic BD solution roadmaps.

  • Collaborates and builds synergistic relationships with all members of the Sales team, Marketing, Product Research and Development teams, Interface Teams, Implementation & Support teams, Customer Advocacy, and Training.

  • Stays active and engaged with important healthcare related organizations to stay abreast of healthcare trends and changes in Pharmacy/Nursing practice that impact our business or customers. Acts as a thought leader to readily share healthcare knowledge with internal and external customers.

  • Functions as the voice of the Customer and stays engaged with the customer throughout the sales process lifecycle- supporting key post sale engagements as part of the partnership strategy

  • Utilizes up-to-date knowledge of the healthcare industry to provide clinical input for new product development and software enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required;

  • Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist required.

  • 5-10 years of experience in an acute care hospital environment required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience with pharmacy operations automation and medication automated dispensing cabinets.

  • 3 -5 years of hospital departmental management/leadership experience preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Up to 75% travel required, including nights and some weekends

  • Medication automated dispensing cabinets preferred

  • Supply automation solutions

  • Procedural areas

Preferred Experiences

  • Managing IV compounding room

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Overseeing patient safety systems

  • Managing financial and formulary challenges
