Job description

Title: Senior IT Project Manager – HCM Transformation
Location: Portland, OR - Hybrid role (3 days onsite/week)

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager – HCM Transformation to lead complex Human Capital Management technology programs that support HR, workforce management, and digital transformation initiatives. This role will oversee technology implementations, process improvements, system integrations, and business change activities across cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep IT project management experience, strong Agile delivery capabilities, hands-on Azure DevOps expertise, and a proven track record delivering large-scale HCM, HRIS, or workforce transformation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HCM and HR technology transformation initiatives from planning through delivery and adoption.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, dependencies, and delivery plans.
  • Drive Agile project delivery across business, HR, IT, and vendor teams.
  • Use Azure DevOps, ADO, to manage sprint planning, backlog tracking, reporting, governance, and delivery visibility.
  • Coordinate with HR, business, technology, and vendor stakeholders to align priorities and execution plans.
  • Lead requirements planning, SIT, UAT, deployment readiness, release coordination, and change management activities.
  • Facilitate governance forums, working sessions, status reviews, and executive-level communications.
  • Identify, track, and resolve risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies with clear mitigation plans.
  • Support successful adoption of new solutions, tools, and business process improvements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure delivery outcomes align with program goals and business expectations.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of IT Project Management experience.
  • Mandatory Agile project delivery experience.
  • Mandatory hands-on Azure DevOps, ADO, experience.
  • Experience managing HCM, HRIS, or workforce transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience leading HR technology programs and large-scale implementation efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across business, technology, HR, and vendor teams.
  • Strong risk, issue, dependency, and change management experience.
  • Experience leading SIT, UAT, deployment, and business readiness activities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, executive reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage complex priorities in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UKG, or similar HCM platforms.
  • Experience managing payroll, talent management, recruiting, benefits, or workforce management programs.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar certification.
