Job Purpose

In your role asTransfer Refuse Specialist,you willbe responsible forsafelyoperatinga tractor trailer truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to haul materials from designated sites.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform pre and post trip inspections of truck

  • Operate truckin accordance withDOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws

  • Mount and dismount a heavy-duty truck many times each day

  • Complete assigned route daily, leaving pick-uplocation free of debris

  • Haul waste or recyclable materials to transfer stations, landfills, or processing facilities

  • Secure loads,operatehydraulic systems to load and unload containers, andmaintainthe cleanliness of the vehicle

  • Professionally communicates with customers as needed

  • Notifyappropriate partiesof any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents

  • Notifyappropriate partiesof any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safetyhazardsetc.

  • Attend training programs, briefings, and meetings asrequired

  • Immediately communicate mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor

  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle

  • Maintains professional appearance

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate profile includes:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Mustpossessa CDL A

  • Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen

  • Must have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years

  • Must have ability to communicate professionally with customers,dispatchand internal customer service

  • Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smell

  • Must be able tolift upto 75 pounds

  • Must be able to start as early as 5:00AM

  • May berequiredto work in emergency situations
