Meet, greet and welcome customers of WVU Medicine while manning the shuttles. The shuttle drivers must have great customer service and driving skills when operating the shuttles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Valid Driver's License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three years driving experience driving a multiple passenger vehicle is preferred.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Must arrive to assigned area to prepare shuttle for the days run. Checking fluid and operation of the shuttle prior to loading the first passenger of the day.
2. Must arrive on time and wearing proper uniform issued to you.
3. Must follow all traffic laws, posted speed limits and signals.
4. Report all accidents / incidents immediately to your supervisor.
5. If problematic situations arise, you are to contact your supervisor immediately.
6. At all times follow the designated route and follow the guidelines when loading / unloading passengers. (i.e. 5 minutes, Full Shuttle or Another Shuttle Arrives)
7. All shuttles are to be maintained inside and out during non-peak hours by the individual drivers of the shuttle.
8. If the Shuttle develops mechanical issues, document the problem and notify your supervisor immediately.
9. No Cell Phone usage while Shuttle is operating per the law and policy.
10. Breaks are to be taken on non-peak times.
11. Communication between drivers upon leaving or arriving at a destination is required via radio.
12. Documentation of passengers is to be updated at all destinations.
13. Any suspicious activity is to be reported to the Security Dispatcher immediately
14. Any vehicle assist with other motorist or employees are to be reported to Security Dispatcher immediately.
15. Must know how to operate wheelchair lift on handicap equipped Shuttles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in order to communicate with passengers regarding the Shuttle Services.
2. Continuous sitting, within the shuttles from parking lot areas is required in order to transport passengers to retrieve vehicles / arrive to destinations.
3. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients / employees, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient's profile and appropriate algorithms.
4. Evaluation by Occupational Medicine required upon hire or transfer to ensure medical fitness. Periodic evaluation after hire required. Any significant changes in health-status must be reported.

1. Employee may be exposed to all types of weather conditions.
2. Employee exposed to all traffic conditions.
3. Must complete vision screening test for near and far vision. Must screen 20/40 or better or will be referred to the Eye Center.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to operate all types of automobiles and light trucks, both standard and automatic transmissions.
2. Ability to drive a (15) passenger Shuttle.
3. Having great customer and people skills is preferred.
