Job description

Primary Function

The Yard Coordinator II serves as a key point of contact in the yard, supporting daily operations through coordination of equipment movement, customer and driver interaction, and accurate documentation of transactionsย 

Essential Duties

Yard Operations Coordination and Equipment Handlingย 

  • Coordinate movement of machines within yard and assign locations based on operational needs ย 
  • Load and unload equipment and attachments for rentals, returns, repairs, and sales ย 
  • Stage equipment for inspections, service, and transport readiness ย 
  • Direct Yard Tech I activities as appropriate to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to priorities ย 

Customer and Driver Coordinationย 

  • Greet customers and drivers entering yard and direct them to appropriate personnel ย 
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound equipment traffic and communicate yard procedures ย 
  • Serve as primary contact for drivers to ensure safe and efficient equipment flow ย 

Inventory and Asset Managementย 

  • Maintain and update equipment and attachment inventory records in yard systems ย 
  • Label and track all machines and attachments to ensure accurate identification and control ย 
  • Verify equipment details and authorize releases in accordance with company procedures ย 
  • Monitor equipment movement and ensure accurate transaction reporting ย 

Administrative and Documentation Coordinationย 

  • Maintain daily gate logs and disburse transaction reports to appropriate personnel ย 
  • Process and verify documentation for equipment movement, transfers, and releases ย 
  • Capture and upload digital photographs of inbound and outbound equipment to required systems ย 
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data entries and resolve discrepancies ย 

Yard Maintenance, Safety, and Equipment Preparationย 

  • Enforce safe working practices and monitor yard activity for compliance with safety standards ย 
  • Organize yard layout and maintain orderly storage of equipment and attachments ย 
  • Perform routine equipment preparation including cleaning, fluid checks, and minor adjustments ย 
  • Observe and measure equipment and trailer dimensions to support safe handling and transportย 

Minimum Requirements

Education

High School diploma.ย 

Work Experience

  • 4+ years of related experience.ย 

Physical

  • Physical ability to climb and operate equipment numerous times on a daily basis.ย 
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.ย 

Other

  • Must have beginner/intermediate PC skills to enter basic information.ย 
  • Ability to obtain a forklift and tele handler license.ย 
  • Must be able to work independently.ย 
  • Ability to read and comprehend shipping information and follow through on verbal communications.ย 
  • Demonstrate strong professional customer service skills.ย 
  • Must be self-sufficient and detail oriented.ย 
  • Has operated or can quickly learn to operate various construction and industrial equipment.ย
