The Opportunity

Provides technical or industry knowledge to contribute to the completion of multiple engagement phases. Demonstrate capabilities with moderate level of oversight and collaboration with more senior level professionals.  Scope and size of projects they contribute to are generally smaller or they may own a smaller portion of a larger project. May lead a small to medium size effort or project team. May delegate team work assignments through various phases of an engagement. May manage projects from prospect to client deliverable. Will likely contribute to multiple projects at any given time. The candidate will demonstrate experience with energy market hourly production models (such as Plexos, Promod, Aurora, or EnCompass) and play a key role on a team of engineers, managers, consultants, and financial analysts, with the expectation to collect and analyze data, develop technical assessment reports, conduct site visits, develop and maintain client contacts, and continue to develop overall project management and sales responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of energy markets, electric generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and/or renewable energy technologies
  • Strong skills to understand energy price and LMP formations, and deep interest in developing well calibrated models to replicate ISO market dynamics.
  • Understands and performs transmission nodal analysis for renewable curtailment analysis, basis analysis and BESS dispatch and revenue projection.
  • Advanced analytical skills and keen attention to details including being comfortable reviewing or developing complex financial pro forma models
  • Profeciency with power system production costing simulation models and able to run and troubleshoot models, with guidance from senior staff.
  • Develops applicable knowledge bases by using best practices to redefine tools and techniques.  Outlines specific performance measures, targets, and goals to articulate the business case for realized efficiencies or added value
  • Demonstrates strong writing skills for developing reports and presentations
  • Utilizes specialized knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across many phases of an engagement or one phase of a more complex engagement
  • Develops, presents, and defends conclusions, recommendations, and implementation plans
  • Analyzes and applies best practices knowledge of the industry
