Steadfast Electric – Accounting and Office/HR Administrator:

Steadfast Electric is a Louisville based electrical services contractor offering lighting services and commercial electrical work, as well as residential electric, home generator installation, car installations and charging station setup. We are currently seeking to fill a key Accounting & Office/HR Coordinator position that serves as a critical operational support role primarily for financial processes, to include some employee administration. This position functions as a direct extension of leadership, enabling the organization to maintain operational continuity while continuing its rapid growth trajectory.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Accounting Responsibilities (Primary)

  • Execute routine accounting responsibilities: reconciliations, journal entries, and analytical/review support for month-end close
  • Maintain accurate records and organized supporting documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Process vendor payments, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring transactions are coded correctly and consistently.
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and identify variances that require follow‑up.
  • Ensure adherence to uniform accounting practices, policies, and procedures to promote operational integrity.
  • Work closely with Sales and Project Management to streamline communication around billing, inventory, and job costing.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to improve accuracy and timeliness of financial information from the field.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving financial discrepancies or operational questions promptly and professionally.

Office/HR Administration (Secondary)

  • Assist maintaining employee records, process benefit elections and changes in system, ensure accurate and up‑to‑date documentation (*not an HR role)
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes (admin only) to ensure a smooth experience for new hires and departing employees
  • Serve as initial point of contact for basic employee support questions related to payroll and benefits and guide them in the right direction for escalated support

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar financial role (construction or trades industry a plus).
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger activity.
  • Experience processing payroll and related compliance (multi-state experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, Kronos) and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and consistent follow‑through
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both field and office teams
  • Administrative experience related to HR not required but considered a plus
