The Role

At Lumen, we are reimagining how businesses connect, innovate, and grow in an increasingly digital world. As a Senior Lead Product Manager on the Outbound Product Management team, you will help shape the market success of Lumen's strategic offerings by driving product adoption, commercialization, and customer value realization.

This role focuses on product management, financial technology, and go-to-market execution, emphasizing payment processing, billing innovation, digital commerce, financial operations, and customer transaction experiences. You will act as a key bridge between Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to define market requirements, influence product direction, and accelerate adoption of solutions supporting enterprise buying, billing, payment, and consumption experiences. You will leverage customer insights, market intelligence, and data-driven analysis to identify opportunities that improve transaction experiences, simplify financial operations, and create differentiated value for customers.

This highly visible role offers the chance to influence product strategy, drive commercialization, and contribute directly to Lumen's growth.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Define and execute product strategies that enhance customer acquisition, onboarding, billing, payments, and overall commercial experiences.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize requirements and influence product roadmaps based on customer and business needs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for payment processing, billing platforms, financial integrations, settlement workflows, and transaction management.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Engineering to improve payment reliability, transaction accuracy, reconciliation, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Legal, Security, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Develop product positioning, customer value propositions, sales enablement materials, and go-to-market strategies to drive adoption.
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders to validate market opportunities and shape product direction.
  • Use customer insights, market research, financial data, and operational metrics to prioritize investments and measure success.
  • Define and track KPIs related to revenue growth, adoption, customer experience, payment performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor industry trends and cultivate strategic partnerships across payments, fintech, digital commerce, and enterprise technology ecosystems.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, payments, financial technology, billing systems, digital commerce, or related technology leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing, billing systems, invoicing, financial workflows, settlement processes, or related business systems.
  • Experience translating customer needs and business requirements into product requirements and go-to-market strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience using data to drive product decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments requiring innovation, agility, and execution excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise payment platforms, payment gateways, payment orchestration, ACH, card processing, digital wallets, or recurring billing systems.
  • Understanding of payment lifecycle management including onboarding, authorization, settlement, reconciliation, collections, and reporting.
  • Experience with subscription-based, consumption-based, marketplace, or recurring revenue business models.
  • Familiarity with financial compliance requirements, fraud management, identity verification, risk controls, or governance processes.
  • Experience launching and commercializing cloud, SaaS, networking, telecommunications, or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience leveraging market intelligence, competitive analysis, customer research, and industry trends to influence product strategy.
  • Exposure to analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
