Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting on-time shipment performance through detailed coordination of production schedules, materials, and work orders. This role focuses on executing daily and weekly production plans, maintaining accurate ERP data, and ensuring materials and jobs are properly staged and prioritized to meet customer commitments.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Production & Scheduling Support
  • Maintain the machine priority list by using the ERP system (Global Shop) to review and monitor work orders, bills of materials, routings, and job status.
  • Issue materials and components to work orders and ensure accurate system transactions.
  • Review completed operations for accuracy, including labor reporting, scrap, and job movement to the next operation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including adjustments and WIP transactions as needed.

Material & Inventory Coordination
  • Review customer closing orders to determine material requirements, labor allocation, and production sequencing needed to meet delivery commitments.
  • Kitting materials for machining work orders and ensuring availability for production.
  • Issue materials and components to routers and work orders, ensuring accurate allocation and timely availability for assembly.
  • Support proper handling, organization, and flow of materials throughout the production process.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Participate in production meetings to review open orders, priorities, and job status.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance
  • Identify and support improvements to scheduling, material flow, and ERP processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, inventory accuracy standards, and data integrity requirements.
  • Support compliance with quality management system requirements (e.g., AS9100).
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

Requirements
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of ERP, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and other business software tools as needed.
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, adaptable, and flexible approach to work.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years of combined administrative and hands-on production experience, manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Prior experience in inventory control, scheduling, materials coordination, supply chain administration or a related manufacturing role.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Global Shop) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic production documentation (work orders, BOMs, routings).

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled facility with modern equipment and a safety-first culture. Ambient conditions include typical plant lighting and machinery operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
