Job description

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Reno, NV.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday hours will vary between 6:00 am - 6:00 pm based on coverage needs; Weekend hours may be required as needed

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of approximately 25 or more phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices in Carson City, Elko and Reno, NV
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules, and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Nevada state issued laboratory assistant license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed Phlebotomy training program from an accredited agency
  • 3 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment
  • Pediatric - Geriatric patient experience
  • Phlebotomy managerial, supervisory, team leader experience

Additional Job Standards:

  • In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a lab assistant license filed with the NV Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record

Pay Range: $55,000 - 101,063 annually

All job offers will bebased on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicabledegrees/certifications,as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits:Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
