Job description

As the Supervisor - Operations Training, you will lead a standardized, outcomes-driven training program focused on improving operational performance through effective execution. You will supervise Facility Trainers and ensure associates are trained, certified, and recertified to SOPs across receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, and 5S practices. You will establish and manage cross-training metrics to build workforce flexibility and skill depth across functions. You will partner with operations leadership to improve productivity, quality, service, and safety. You will ensure audit and safety compliance, support process development and continuous improvement, and provide data-driven insights to strengthen performance management.

Important: While this position is listed in Reno NV, Lewisville TX, Buena Park CA and Avondale AZ, it may be filled from any location within the United States. This flexibility supports the COE tactical mission and the management of U.S. Facility Trainers  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all training, certification, and recertification activities for warehouse associates
  • Deliver training directly (1:1 and group) and supervise Facility Trainers in daily training execution
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with all SOPs; ensure training documentation and records are accurate and current
  • Coordinate training needs with daily/weekly operational plans to support service requirements
  • Monitor workflow, throughput, quality, and error rates; initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Establish and track performance standards for key warehouse functions (pick, pack, ship, assembly, returns, equipment, housekeeping)
  • Conduct safety inspections, maintain OSHAcompliant documentation, and support safety incident followup
  • Support audit readiness and ensure SOP and training alignment with audit and regulatory requirements
  • Identify process bottlenecks and collaborate with leadership on timely resolutions and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Quality Management Rep or Quality leader to develop, update, and document warehouse processes and work instructions
  • Use data and KPIs to evaluate training effectiveness and operational performance, report insights to leadership
  • Maintain positive employee relations and provide coaching, feedback, and skill development for direct reports
  • Ensure accurate time, attendance, and performance documentation for Facility Trainers and training participants
  • Participate in Gemba walks and other lean/CI activities to reinforce operational standards
  • Drive process improvement by using training as a lever to enhance productivity, quality, service, and safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational excellence and workforce capability

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) - Business or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years of warehouse/distribution operations experience
  • 2 years of training/facilitation or frontline leadership
  • Strong knowledge of Work Management System/Warehouse Control System, Radio Frequency workflows, and standard DC processes (receiving shipping)
  • Experience developing SOPs, training materials, and certification programs 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); data-driven decision-making 
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and change management skills
  • Prior supervisory experience of trainers or frontline employees preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements; safety inspection experience preferred
  • Lean/5S/continuous improvement exposure (Green Belt) preferred
  • Ability to work across shifts and support peak periods preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • LMS experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 25% - 50%

Working Environment: Warehouse - Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment.  The noise level is moderately quiet. Generally well-ventilated and well lighted.  Warehouse employees may be exposed to all kinds of weather and may be required to wear protective clothing.  Operates heavy equipment.  Strict safety regulations may be required.
