POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Project Manager - King County Crisis Training Academy (KC-CTA) serves as the senior project and program leader responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of a countywide crisis workforce training initiative funded through the King County Crisis Care Centers Levy
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Harborview Behavioral Health Institute (BHI) is a program of Harborview Medical Center that is dedicated to advancing innovation, research and clinical practice in community behavioral health. The BHI Pillars of Clinical Services, Training, Policy and Workforce Development, and Research and Program Evaluation are focused on innovative practices that improve access to effective behavioral health care. The BHI is led and staffed by Harborview Medical Center clinical staff and faculty from the UW Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead King County Crisis Training Academy (KC-CTA) Program Planning, Implementation, and Oversight
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the KC-TA across Phase 1 (Scoping) and Phase 2 (Training Delivery).
- Develop, manage, and update project workplans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with contractual requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of all required activities.
- Anticipate and address risks, barriers, and system challenges impacting project success.
- Serve as a primary liaison with King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) and other key system partners.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Crisis Care Centers, Post-Crisis Follow-Up teams, training partners, community-based organizations, and people with lived experience.
- Communicate complex project information clearly and effectively to diverse internal and external audiences, including senior leadership.
- Provide oversight of curriculum development, training delivery models, and evaluation processes.
- Use evaluation data and participant feedback to inform continuous quality improvement and program refinement.
- Provide fiscal oversight of the KC-CTA budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds.
- Oversee subcontractor selection, contracting, performance monitoring, and compliance with reporting and invoicing requirements.
- Ensure adherence to contractual, regulatory, and UW Medicine policies and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral health, public health, human services, education, or a related field
- Four to five years' experience
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects or initiatives in behavioral health, crisis services, workforce development, training, or a related public service field.
- Experience managing externally funded programs or contracts, including responsibility for deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice and respect for human differences.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and willingness to learn new concepts, systems, and methodologies. Must work well in a team environment and demonstrate initiative, judgment, and an internal drive for excellence.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
