Job description

Project Manager, Office of the CEO, Cognito Therapeutics, Inc.

Location: Boston, or Remote USA, Full-time

Company Description

Cognito Therapeutics, Inc. is a venture-backed (Morningside Ventures, FoundersX, IAG, Starbloom) late clinical stage company translating scientific findings from MIT into therapeutic approaches for brain health, including Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. We were awarded a Breakthrough designation by the FDA in December 2020 based upon our feasibility data that showed our therapy's strong safety profile and a notable preservation of cognition and function in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's. We completed enrollment in our pivotal study, HOPE, in June 2025 and expect to release topline data from the trial in summer 2026. We are a fast-moving, highly motivated team of innovators with the ambitious goal of helping millions of patients and caregivers around the world who are impacted by neurodegenerative conditions. With our patented brain stimulation technology, we are committed to developing convenient, safe and effective neuroprotective therapies to improve brain health and well-being for all.

About the Job

Cognito Therapeutics is seeking a Project Manager to join our Program Management team and provide dedicated project and operational support to the Chief of Staff during a pivotal phase of company growth. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this individual will help translate strategic priorities into coordinated, well-tracked execution - maintaining project plans and timelines for cross-functional initiatives tied to Cognito's roadmap, supporting IPO-readiness workstreams, and keeping the executive operating rhythm on track. This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, highly organized project management professional who wants growing exposure to executive level strategic work at a late clinical-stage company preparing for commercialization.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Chief of Staff in coordinating executive cross-functional initiatives spanning Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, Technology, and Operations tied to the company's roadmap.
  • Develops and maintains project plans, timelines, and trackers for executive strategic initiatives, escalating risks, delays, or resource gaps to the Chief of Staff.
  • Owns the cadence of recurring executive cross-functional meetings: builds agendas, captures action items, tracks follow-through, and circulates status updates.
  • Prepares status reports, dashboards, and summary materials that translate strategic initiative progress into clear updates for the Chief of Staff and executive leadership.
  • Supports coordination of IPO-readiness workstreams - including document tracking, governance checklists, and cross-functional milestone follow-up - in partnership with Finance, Legal, and Communications.
  • Helps coordinate logistics and materials for Board meetings, investor updates, and other executive engagements.
  • Identifies risks, bottlenecks, and open dependencies across supported workstreams and brings them to the Chief of Staff with recommended next steps.
  • Maintains organized documentation and tracking systems that support consistency, accountability, and audit-readiness across executive strategic initiatives.
  • Conducts lessons-learned reviews at the close of key initiatives to inform future execution.
  • Supports special projects and process improvement efforts at the direction of the Chief of Staff.

Reporting Relationship

This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff, with close day-to-day collaboration with Cognito's Program Management team on tooling, process standards, and cross-training.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in business, engineering, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, program coordination, business operations, or a related role.
  • Experience in biotech, medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare technology, or another high-growth regulated environment is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in consulting is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, polished materials for senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with project management and productivity tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and drive accountability among stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
  • Prior exposure to FDA-regulated environments (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485) or IPO-readiness activities is a plus but not required.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification is a plus but not required.
