Project Manager
PAYETTE, based in downtown Boston, is a leading architectural design firm specializing in the programming, planning, and design of complex buildings for medical and scientific research, academic teaching, healthcare, and corporate research. We provide a dynamic, collaborative environment which supports innovation and creativity, allowing each team member to significantly contribute to the design process. PAYETTE is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our highly collaborative, design-oriented practice. Our focus is on challenging building types: higher educational facilities for science, research laboratories and healthcare facilities of all types. We go beyond technical and programmatic competence to bring award-winning design and beautiful craft to these buildings of intense habitation.
Candidates must have the following qualifications to be considered for the position:
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree
  • At least eight years of post-graduate professional experience, specifically within complex projects for healthcare, scientific research, academic teaching, and corporate research
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with a range of individuals, including clients, consultants, and other architects
  • Experience managing project financials effectively, including project budgeting, scheduling and contract negotiations
  • Effective client relationship skills for leading and working with diverse teams of designers
  • Ability to support technical design and documentation on projects of various sizes and complexities
  • Ability to assume responsibility for project correspondence, reports, documentation, and general administration
  • Dedication to excellence in design and technical facets of the project
Other position qualifications include:
  • Prior experience on all phases of a project, including Construction Documents and Contract Administration
  • Prior experience managing the work of consultants
  • Prior experience supervising the work of junior staff
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment
  • Ability to solve problems creatively
  • Architectural registration and LEED accreditation is a plus
Compensation: $92,000 - $146,000
