POSITION SUMMARY
The Property Management Training & Development Manager is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing operational training and professional development programs for family property management staff throughout the Foundation Communities portfolio.
This position ensures employees have the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to deliver exceptional resident service, maintain regulatory compliance, achieve operational excellence, and advance professionally within the organization. The role partners closely with Operations, Compliance, Employee Engagement, and Executive Leadership to create a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and growth.
The Property Management Training & Development Manager serves as the subject matter expert for property management operations and is responsible for developing training programs that support leasing, occupancy, collections, resident relations, leadership development, and operational consistency across the portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Program Development
โข Design, implement, and continuously improve training programs for property management staff.
โข Develop training curricula, manuals, job aids, SOPs, reference materials, and learning resources.
โข Ensure training content remains current with organizational policies, industry best practices, and operational changes.
โข Create and administer assessments to measure employee knowledge and competency.
โข Develop both instructor-led and self-paced learning opportunities.
New Employee Onboarding
โข Collaborate with Engagement Manager to facilitate onboarding programs for new property management employee
โข Deliver training for Leasing Consultants, Assistant Managers, Property Managers, and Floating Staff.
โข Track onboarding milestones and employee progress
โข Conduct follow-up coaching and development throughout the employeeโs first 90 days
โข Partner with supervisors to ensure successful integration and skill development
Operational Training
Develop and deliver training related to:
โข Leasing and sales techniques
โข Customer service and resident relations
โข Affordable housing operations
โข Waitlist management
โข Occupancy management
โข Rent collections and delinquency management
โข Move-in and move-out procedures
โข Recertification processes
โข Resident retention strategies
โข Emergency preparedness and response
โข Company policies and procedures
โข Property management best practices
Systems Training
โข Serve as a primary trainer for property management software and operational systems.
โข Deliver training on RealPage OneSite, RealPage BI, Microsoft Office, Teams, and other company systems
โข Develop system training guides and process documentation
โข Assist with implementation and rollout of new technologies and operational processes
Field Coaching and Performance Support
โข Conduct regular property visits to observe operations and identify training opportunities
โข Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to onsite teams
โข Assist Regional Managers and leadership with employee development plans.
โข Reinforce company standards and expectations through ongoing staff support
Compliance Partnership
โข Collaborate with Compliance and Operations teams to ensure training programs support regulatory requirements.
โข Assist in translating compliance requirements into operational practices and procedures.
โข Support organizational readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Program Evaluation and Reporting
โข Track and report training participation, completion rates, and effectiveness
โข Measure training outcomes and recommend improvements
โข Analyze operational trends to identify portfolio-wide training needs
โข Maintain training records and development documentation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
โข Minimum five (5) years of multifamily property management experience
โข Strong knowledge of property management operations and industry best practices.
โข Experience developing and delivering training programs.
โข Strong public speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills.
โข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
โข Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
โข Affordable housing experience including LIHTC, TDHCA, HUD, or similar housing programs.

โข Ability to occasionally lift and transport training materials up to 25 pounds.
Pay Rate $70,000 yr
