About the Role

The Manager of Airport Services Training is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of all Above Wing training programs for Airport Services Crewmembers. This leader manages a team of instructors responsible for onboarding, recurrent, and advanced training while ensuring every program reinforces JSX's commitment to safety, compliance, hospitality, and operational excellence. Working closely with operational leaders and support departments, you'll help ensure our Crewmembers are prepared to deliver an exceptional Customer experience at every station.

A Day in the Life

Your day is centered around developing exceptional Airport Services Crewmembers by ensuring every training program is engaging, compliant, and operationally relevant. You'll balance instructor leadership, curriculum oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to prepare teams for success across the JSX network. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of Above Wing training programs, including onboarding, recurrent training, advanced learning, and operational readiness initiatives.
  • Ensure training materials align with FAA, Safety, Security, and company standards while reinforcing hospitality and operational excellence.
  • Partner with operational leaders to update curriculum, job aids, reference materials, and training content as procedures evolve.
  • Lead training efforts supporting new station openings, aircraft introductions, technology implementations, and procedural changes.
  • Collaborate with the Below Wing Training team to ensure a consistent and coordinated Airport Services training strategy.
  • Manage and develop a team of Airport Services Instructors and Airport Services Training Supervisors responsible for delivering Above Wing training programs.
  • Conduct classroom observations, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations to ensure instructional excellence.
  • Coordinate instructor scheduling, travel, and resource planning to support onboarding classes, on-the-job training, special projects, and network growth.
  • Promote instructor development through mentorship, coaching, webinars, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate training records within the Learning Management System and ensure timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, internal audits, and instructor calibration to ensure consistency across all training programs.
  • Partner with Safety and operational teams to integrate risk assessments and mitigation strategies into training content.
  • Support station visits, operational readiness assessments, and field observations to validate training effectiveness.
  • Track training metrics, completion rates, instructor performance, and learner feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership regarding training effectiveness, operational readiness, staffing needs, and future learning initiatives.
  • Assist with annual training plans, instructor staffing forecasts, and budget planning for Airport Services Training.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience managing instructors, facilitators, or learning professionals across multiple locations.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, recurrent training, compliance training, and operational readiness initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of FAA, ACAA, and Airport Services operational procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual learning platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% to support station launches, instructor development, on-the-job training, coaching, and webinars.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience leading training teams within aviation, hospitality, or other highly regulated service environments.
  • Experience managing instructor teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale operational changes, new station launches, or enterprise learning initiatives.
