Job description

We are seeking a Technical Training Specialist โ€“ Metals to lead hands-on, application-oriented training initiatives within our production environment. This role is critical in ensuring the effective transfer of knowledge in metal fundamentals and expanding structured training programs for our manufacturing workforce at our Gainesville, Georgia facility. The successful candidate will work closely with HR and local management to design, implement, and maintain training frameworks that support operational excellence and workforce development in automotive gear production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure hands-on, application-oriented knowledge transfer within the production environment (theory and practice).
  • Optimize and expand existing modules of the metals foundational training program.
  • Develop and build specialized continuing education modules in the area of metals for production employees.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with schools (e.g., internships, orientation days, talent pipeline programs).
  • Collaborate closely with the HR organization and local site management.
  • Develop training concepts at the site in coordination with HR.
  • Deliver training modules and continuing education seminars.
  • Ensure compliance with company environmental and quality management systems, including ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent technical experience will be considered.

  • Completed vocational/technical training or demonstrated hands-on experience as an industrial mechanic, machinist, or comparable technical role.

  • Several years of professional experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, with strong working knowledge of metals manufacturing processes including machining and quality control.

  • Proven ability to design and deliver technical training programs using instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick).

  • Experience in the delivery of instructional content; industry-recognized certifications in training or manufacturing (e.g., SME, NIMS, Six Sigma) are a plus.

  • Passion for teaching and mentoring others in technical subjects; strong pedagogical and organizational skills.

  • Effective communicator with excellent presentation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills; structured and clear communication style.

  • Proficient in the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), training development tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and influence others in a training environment.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

  • High intercultural openness and motivation to actively contribute in an international environment.

Work Environment
  • This role involves hands-on interaction with machinery, tools, and production processes in the manufacturing facility.
  • Exposure to industrial noise, heat, lubricants, and mechanical equipment is common; appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is provided and required.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or professional development.
