Job description

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing the hotel's daily operations and ensuring a positive experience for guests and team members. This position provides hands-on leadership across Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast, and other operational departments.
The AGM helps maintain Peachtree Group and Marriott brand standards while supporting financial performance, employee development, guest satisfaction, safety, and regulatory compliance. In the General Manager's absence, the AGM assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the hotel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Manager with the daily operation of the dual brand hotel.
  • Provide leadership and operational support to all hotel departments.
  • Serve as the Manager on Duty and respond to operational concerns, emergencies, and guest issues.
  • Conduct regular property walks and room inspections to identify cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and brand standard concerns.
  • Ensure all departments have the supplies, staffing, and resources required to operate effectively.
  • Follow up on daily operational assignments and communicate unresolved concerns to the General Manager.
  • Coordinate with department leaders to prepare for high-occupancy periods, group arrivals, special events, and brand inspections.
Guest Service
  • Promote a guest-focused culture and ensure team members consistently provide professional and welcoming service.
  • Review guest surveys, online reviews, and service-recovery cases.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints.
  • Investigate recurring guest concerns and develop corrective-action plans.
  • Empower team members to resolve guest concerns while protecting the hotel's reputation and financial interests.
  • Support improvement of guest satisfaction metrics, including cleanliness, intent to recommend, maintenance, breakfast, elite appreciation, and overall service.
Team Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with Peachtree Group policies and applicable Marriott brand standards.
  • Assist with preparation for Quality Assurance, Brand Standard Audit, safety, and other inspections.
  • Conduct routine guest-room and public-area inspections.
  • Ensure corrective items are assigned, documented, and completed within established deadlines.
  • Support department-specific training related to cleanliness, guest service, safety, and required operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, logs, checklists, and inspection documentation.
Safety and Compliance
  • Promote a safe environment for guests, employees, and visitors.
  • Ensure accidents, injuries, guest incidents, and property damage are documented and reported promptly.
  • Assist with emergency-response procedures, fire-safety requirements, severe-weather protocols, and evacuation plans.
  • Ensure employees complete required safety, food-handling, brand, and company training.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment, health, safety, and accessibility requirements.
