Position Summary:
The Baking Technology and Training Specialist plays a key role in supporting excellence and innovation in technical training within BBU. Responsible for supporting training initiatives, developing engaging training materials, and facilitating impactful learning experiences, this position is essential to the success of our organization.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Baking Technology and Training, the Specialist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, sister Business Units, and external partners to leverage resources and expertise, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Training Support: Support technical training programs for Bimbo Bakeries North America. This includes assisting in identifying key areas for skill development, reviewing industry trends, and supporting training initiatives aligned with organizational goals. Help identify training needs within the organization through analysis of performance gaps and employee feedback.
  • Training Implementation: Implement various training methods, including workshops, seminars, online courses, and on-the-job training, to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
  • Material Development: Create and develop tailored training plans and materials to address business needs. This involves researching best practices, compiling resources, and designing engaging content to support effective learning. This includes the development of videos, media content, bulletins, instructional material, PowerPoint decks, webinars, and other relevant materials.
  • Certified Bakery Master Program: Support the Certified Bakery Master program from nomination and selection of participants to graduation. Assist in implementing a structured curriculum, coordinating logistics, and monitoring participant progress towards certification.
  • Facilitation: Lead and support training sessions and workshops for BBU and BC employees, as well as participants in the Certified Bakery Master program. Utilize effective facilitation techniques to ensure active participation and knowledge retention.
  • Program Coordination: Coordinate training program activities, including scheduling sessions, securing locations, coordinating instructors, and tracking participant progress. Ensure that training initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with sister Business Units and external partners to leverage resources and expertise. Work closely and collaborate with the Craft Academy Training Program, maximizing the impact of training efforts and sharing best practices across the organization.
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Support the evaluation of training programs through feedback mechanisms and performance metrics. Continuously seek opportunities to improve training content, delivery methods, and overall effectiveness.
  • Compliance: Support compliance of training programs with industry standards and regulations. Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in training delivery to uphold the organization's reputation as the leader in the baking industry.

Education and Work History:

  • Additional baking education such as AIB residency / correspondence course completion preferred. Advanced degrees or certifications in Training and Development, Adult Learning, or a related field are preferred. Proven baking experience is accepted instead of formal education.
  • 3+ years experience in the baking industry is also highly desirable, along with proven experience in instructional design, training facilitation, program coordination, and talent development.
  • Proficiency-level computer skills including MS Office applications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a Plus.
