Job description

Summary/Objective

The primary purpose of the Associate Training Lead is to serve as the onsite trainer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for new hire training at Michelin US1. This role leads the day-to-day training program, delivers hands-on and classroom instruction across all production and forklift positions, and ensures every new associate is safely and competently qualified before performing independent work. The Associate Training Lead also supports the Site Safety Program by reinforcing safe work practices in every training interaction, contributes to a proactive Safety Culture, and partners with the Operations team to keep training aligned with site needs.


Essential Functions

Training (Primary Responsibility):

  • Lead New Hire Orientation and deliver classroom training for incoming associates.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all US1 production positions and forklift operations.
  • Deliver hands-on, on-the-job training for new hires across assigned production positions.
  • Directly train new hire Forklift Drivers for their first 40 hours in training.
  • Assist with Forklift Certifications and Forklift Classroom training.
  • Administer the recertification process for production and forklift positions.
  • Provide ongoing skills assessments of associates' training progress and report status to site leadership.
  • Document all training activity and maintain accurate training records.
  • Update and maintain the site Cross-Training Matrix.
  • Complete Production Post Validation for newly trained associates.
  • Complete Powered Industrial Equipment Training Validation.


Safety Support:

  • Attend TAG meetings and identify trainees and their current training status.
  • Maintain the PIV Impact Program.
  • Perform Safety Gemba walks throughout the plant when not actively training.
  • Conduct Behavior-Based Observations and Powered Industrial Truck Observations when not actively training.
  • Reinforce OSHA compliance and safe work practices in every training session.


Coaching:

  • Provide coaching to all associates on safety, quality, and job performance.

Work Environment or Working Conditions

The working conditions and environments are created by our customer's facilities, both in administrative areas and in manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Customer sites include process manufacturing equipment and heavy powered industrial vehicles. Environments may vary from non-temperature-controlled industrial areas to GMP clean room areas as required.


Physical Demands

  • Requires good physical condition to work in an industrial site.
  • Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift approximately 75 pounds.
  • Near visual acuity for reading instructions, manuals, and specifications.
  • Depth perception and wide field of vision required when operating vehicles.
  • Continuous mounting and dismounting of vehicles.


Travel

Occasional travel may be needed for training and development.
