Overview

As a CO+I Learning Training Manager you will contribute to and manage programs establishing technical training delivery, workforce training needs analysis, and engaging your team in procedural change management activities in support of the datacenters in your area of responsibility. You'll leverage project and program management fundamentals as you evaluate and report on training activities in the datacenters and develop your own leadership skills while coaching your trainers in their own career growth. Location and work-from-home schedule are flexible based on team distribution and time zone coverage.

As a Training Manager you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of trainers while embracing Microsoft's culture of "Model, Coach, Care". Deliver success through team empowerment, leading by example through individual development and personal accountability while coaching trainers on developing their own capabilities.
  • Partner with site managers and trainers to provide solutions for operational risks, training gaps, and learning opportunities and communicate those to stakeholders in partnership with regional training operations managers.
  • Encourage team and site customers to innovate on training topics using technologies from working environments and scenarios from live site issues. Structure site training delivery strategies using technical knowledge of adult learning principles and building relationships with business partners.
  • Enable team to leverage the latest features, technologies, and processes and incorporate them into appropriate learning experiences to ensure a quality learning environment and relevance for technologies or common challenges in the live environment.
  • Monitor team engagement with learners and ensure alignment with global and local learner goals (e.g., internal and external learner partnership).
  • Establish and maintain a culture of learning across sites, sharing best practices for skills development with business partners, customers, peer GTO teams, and industry leaders.
  • Maintain deep collaboration with sites across all workstreams to ensure training content and delivery are meeting learning expectations in support of availability, safety, and throughput goals in the datacenters.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ combined years training, education, information technology (IT), cloud systems, datacenter environments, critical environments/facilities, cloud, or computer technologies with a focus on in-depth learning of technology systems.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience working with program managers, technical specialists, operations managers, and executives across the full spectrum of a Global operations organization.
  • 2+ years Hands-on experience in managing a technical team maintaining datacenter IT infrastructure or critical facilities operations.
  • Hands-on experience in a technical capacity with maintaining facility cooling, electrical, mechanical and life safety systems, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS)
  • Experience leading training delivery outcomes and readiness operations inputs with demonstrated business frameworks and management.

Technical Training M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
