Job Summary

The Family and Clinical Services Training & Development Specialist I (FCS T&D Specialist) supports the mission, goals, and strategic plan of Life Connection of Ohio (LCO) by working collaboratively with Family and Hospital Service leadership to develop lesson plans and training materials which contribute to the success of LCO. This role will provide clinical training which aligns with LCO's strategic values and anchors. The T&D Specialist will help drive performance to support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), utilize nonconformance and root cause analysis data to drive process improvement, and work to resolve identified gaps between process and training. This position will collaborate with others to lead and/or participate in the presentation of organizational workshops and additionally identified training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities -Essential Duty or Function

  1. Effectively delivers new hire general curriculum onboarding training for all clinical services staff.

  2. Facilitates the onboarding for all clinical staff processes including but not limited to EMR and badge access, account creation, LMS course assignments, schedule logistics, and all other associated tasks.

  3. Effectively delivers new hire clinical curriculum training for the Family and Hospital Services department.

  4. Become and act as subject matter expert (SME) for Family and Hospital services regulations, procedures, and processes.

  5. Create a training strategy that starts with and incorporates "the why" of task requirements.

  6. Collaborate with Family and Hospital Services leadership to identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions for both new hire and incumbent staff.

  7. Collaborate with clinical directors to facilitate annual competency assessments.

  8. Measure staff comprehension of learning programs through observation and knowledge checks.

  9. Create and maintain staff records to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for all LCO staff.

  10. Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop clinical preceptors and evaluate preceptor performance.

  11. Collaborate with Family and Hospital Services leadership to develop and maintain effective training materials.

  12. Maintain training materials, including instructor-led courses, online courses and training manuals for all clinical staff.

  13. Assist in the development, maintenance, and utilization of LCO's Learning Management Systems, T&D SharePoint sites, HealthStream site, and all other applicable programs under the responsibility of Training and Development.

  14. Create clinical training materials using applicable training applications, as needed.

  15. Facilitate process improvement initiatives identified through nonconformance data and root cause analysis meetings.

  16. Work with Family and Hospital Services leadership to coordinate new hire on-site training and precepting.

  17. Collaborates clinical leadership to develop and/or identify continuing education opportunities to staff.

  18. Collaborates with other clinical team Training and Development Specialists to support and facilitate all T&D associated tasks.

  19. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of T&D controlled documents.

  20. Performs additional job-related duties, as assigned.

Education Requirements

Associate or Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent work experience in the related field. Other professional certifications will be considered.

Experience Requirements

Must have experience as a Family Services Coordinator for at least two years or previous counseling, social work, work in crisis management or bereavement support experience is preferred.Experience in precepting, instructional design, adult learning methodologies, and workshop facilitation is preferred. Familiarity with multimedia learning platforms and e-learning technologies, including course development and delivery, is also preferred.

Licenses or Certificates

Grief Counseling Certification preferred.

Supervision

Reports to the Manager of Training and Development.

Work environment varies from office to home office environment to clinical practice areas.
