About the Role
Anytime Fitness Barrington is looking for a motivated, business-minded Fitness Manager / Personal Trainer who is passionate about fitness, sales, and helping grow a successful business. This is more than a training position—we're looking for someone who takes ownership, executes ideas, and is driven to make a measurable impact on both our members and our club's success.
This role combines personal training, member engagement, sales, and business development. You'll coach clients, build lasting relationships, grow the personal training program, and help increase membership through exceptional service and strong lead conversion. The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, sales-oriented, and excited to contribute beyond the gym floor.
This is a part-time opportunity with significant potential to advance into a full-time leadership position for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fitness consultations, assessments, and goal-setting sessions
  • Design and deliver customized personal training programs based on each client's goals and abilities
  • Educate members on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits
  • Build strong relationships with members to improve engagement, retention, and client success
  • Actively sell personal training programs and confidently convert leads into long-term clients
  • Generate new business through referrals, outreach, community events, and member engagement
  • Follow up consistently with prospective members and training leads
  • Support membership growth through exceptional customer service and relationship-building
  • Execute club marketing initiatives, promotions, and community outreach events
  • Maintain accurate client records and utilize club management software
  • Support daily club operations while maintaining Anytime Fitness standards
  • Contribute ideas to improve the business—and take ownership of implementing them
  • Help grow the personal training department while contributing to the overall success of the club
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification required (or equivalent nationally recognized certification may be considered)
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Proven sales experience, lead generation, or the ability to confidently convert prospects into long-term clients
  • Business-minded with a genuine desire to help grow membership, personal training revenue, and overall club performance
  • Passion for helping members achieve their health and fitness goals
  • Knowledge of exercise physiology, body mechanics, nutrition, and proper exercise technique
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software systems
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and professional
  • Honest, trustworthy, and accountable
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn all Anytime Fitness systems, procedures, and operations
