**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD**
The Training Development Specialist (TDS) serves as the curriculum architect and training quality manager for the Specialized Training Support program supporting U.S. Army Special Operations Command, ensuring all program-related courses, lesson plans, and training products remain operationally relevant, technically accurate, U.S. Army Training Requirements Analysis System (TRAS)-compliant, and aligned with Government training objectives across two geographically separated training detachment locations.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain complete courses and major training units of instruction.
  • Create and update POIs, ITPs, CADs, and supporting training materials within TRAS.
  • Review, validate, and incorporate lesson plan revisions submitted by course SMEs.
  • Ensure training products meet instructional, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate training programs for applicability, adequacy, technical accuracy, and achievement of learning objectives.
  • Conduct training improvement analyses and implement curriculum enhancements.
  • Initiate and manage curriculum development projects based on Government direction, operational feedback, and self-assessment findings.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in military training development, curriculum design, or institutional training management
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining POIs, ITPs, CADs, and lesson plans within a formal military training framework
  • Hands-on experience utilizing TRAS or a comparable training management/documentation system
  • Proven ability to evaluate training products for technical accuracy, instructional effectiveness, and alignment with learning objectives
  • Experience coordinating with SMEs to translate operational requirements into structured, compliant training products
  • SECRET Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an Advanced Special Operations Techniques (ASOT) course or equivalent advanced operational training program
  • Operational experience supporting Special Operations Forces or related mission sets
  • Graduate of a recognized instructor certification program (SWCS Basic Instructor Course, TRADOC Basic Instructor Course, or Government-approved equivalent)
  • Graduate of a Training Developer Workshop (TDW) or Test Developer Course (TDC)
  • Prior experience developing or managing curriculum at SWCS or within the SWCS Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOTD)
  • Familiarity with ARSOF institutional training standards, accreditation processes, and training modernization initiatives
