Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Training and Development Specialist to work a Hybrid from our City Center office, located in Newport News, VA.
Job Summary:
The Training and Development Specialist assesses, designs, delivers, and evaluates learning and development solutions that support Langley's People Strategy. Creates and delivers training that enables employee performance and job readiness. Delivers classroom and virtual training for a wide range of training and development programs. Collaborates with others to ensure quality and standard of learning content and delivery.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Recommends, designs and develops appropriate learning interventions based on needs analysis.
  • Actively participates on project teams to support the development and delivery of training for specific business initiatives and strategies.
  • Delivers classroom and virtual training for a wide range of training and development programs as defined by the Langley People Strategy and the enterprise learning and development plan.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners and subject matter experts to identify, develop and deliver the right training to meet business goals and optimal performance outcomes.
  • Designs, develops and delivers training and development solutions using instructional systems design and adult learning principles.
  • Develops instructor and participant guides.
  • Performs quality assurance on all learning and development materials to ensure they reflect Langley culture and are technically accurate, current, and consistent and instructionally sound.
  • Continuously evaluates learning effectiveness and implements program improvements to ensure that they reflect industry best practice and meet organizational needs.
  • Reports on progress of employees during training periods.
  • Maintains training records in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develops strong relationships with staff at all levels to aid in developing course materials and encourages the receipt of constructive training feedback.
  • Serves as coach/mentor to trainees to ensure training and organizational culture are aligned.
  • Provides recommendations and support regarding changes to policies and procedures, to help drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Periodically evaluates ongoing training programs to ensure that they reflect current policies and procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
  • Stays informed of the current trends in training and development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year College or university; or 5 years training and development experience in financial institutions, or equivalent combination of working experience education or training required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of training design, development and/or delivery experience required.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design and training delivery methodologies required.
  • Demonstrated classroom facilitation skills required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • ATD Certification or ATD Certificates held (ATD Master Trainer, ATD Master Instructional Designer, etc.) preferred but not required.

Targeted Pay Range-$27.45- $34.62/Hr.
