Job Description
Reporting to the respective school's Manager of Academic Product Management, the Program Development Owner (PDO) oversees the full product lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of educational products, ensuring alignment with accreditation and regularly standards. This individual manages curriculum design, learning resource curation, development, budget, timeline, and continuous improvement efforts for WGU's online learning content. The PDO collaborates with critical stakeholders in academics, operations, evaluation, and others to provide input about potential changes to the curriculum, assessment, instructional models, and academic support services.
Location: This is an on-site position at our headquarters, 4001 South 700 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84107.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Owns curriculum and assessment within assigned programs, including relevance, quality, technical accuracy, functionality, and assessment validity. Ensure timely delivery of quality programs.
Implements and ensures adherence to best practices in the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of assigned product portfolio.
Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure programs meet all accreditation and regulatory requirements. Ensures alignment between curriculum and assessment.
Provides thought leadership and recommend innovations in learning products, learning design, and delivery based on data analysis and learning science.
Evaluates and analyzes program and course performance as required for operation and quality improvement.
Develops and maintains success metrics and time, budget, and quality measures.
Contribute to critical documentation in support of the full product lifecycle.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and pay attention to detail
Understand product-level curriculum and assessment design and development
Strong online learning design and development skills
Clear understanding of user-experience best practices, including accessibility requirements

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
