Summary

Manages the daily operations of the modalities in assigned scope; supporting departments and supervises staff to include training, development, hiring and performance assessment. In collaboration with the Director Operations, develops, implements, and monitors systems, policies, and procedures to maintain and improve quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for daily operations of assigned modalities in scope to support departments including administrative and technical components, financial management, compliance, vendor contract oversight, patient access and referring physician outreach.

2. Oversees assigned modalities in scope to include onboarding, training, development, hiring and performance assessment. Ensures all staff are assigned the appropriate level of work. Allocates the workload of all areas to ensure that all service areas are covered. Adjusts assignments to meet operational needs. Establishes relationships with employees that foster effective working relationships and allows all parties to function optimally at their jobs, remains familiar with contractual agreements between the hospital, 1199 and participates in grievances as outlined in 1199 Labor contracts and labor management meetings.

3. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements including but not limited to Joint Commission, MQSA, ACR, and New York State.

4. Prepares and monitors capital and operating budgets, manages expenses, monitors budget variances, and implements corrective action when necessary. Monitors financial status, billing, reimbursement, and compliance. Establishes annual goals and measures of performance for functions within the span of control, including key financial metrics.

5. Oversees operation of imaging information management systems including but not limited to PACS, as well as imaging equipment selection, installation, and software upgrades.

6. Identifies need for and coordinates training of technical and support staff as needed.

7. Develops and implements an on-going marketing and public relations program.

8. Coordinates Performance Improvement activities. Presents individualized reports of specific unit Quality Improvement projects, at designated intervals, and reports as needed to Hospital Administration and QPIC.

9. In collaboration with the Director Operations and the Imaging Standardization and Optimization Team (ISOT) develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure quality, compliance, safety and customer service.

10. Monitors and promotes a strong customer service focus. Provides leadership for continuous improvement in patient access, patient experience scores, turnaround times and physician engagement.

11. Ensures safe environment for staff and patients.

12. Interviews, hires, orients, coaches, evaluates, and manages performance issues for direct reports, holding leads responsible and accountable for their assigned areas of responsibility.

13. Promotes a work environment that fosters employee development, promotes self-directed teams, and establishes communication processes. Regularly meets with supervisory team and staff to ensure communication and the proper processes and procedures. Develops and implements tactics to support achievement of organizational goals, including but not limited to patient experience, employee engagement, financial strength and quality/safety and service.
