We provide specialty contracting services through our contracting companies, and state-of-the-art proprietary products and engineering support services through our technologies company. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in-house engineering business line of Structural Group. Tstrata Strengthening Solutions, a division of Structural Group develops and integrates proprietary products and specialty engineering services, to create highly engineered solutions that sustain and enhance infrastructure across a broad range of end user markets. We serve general contractors, structural engineers, designers, and infrastructure managers across the U.S. and in selected international markets.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced technical business development manager to develop new and strengthen existing client relationships throughout Northern California. This position will be based out of our San Francisco office located in Benicia, CA with travel and remote work expected. As a Business Development Manager for Tstrata Strengthening Solutions, you will be accountable for bringing our structural strengthening solutions to the Northern California structural engineering community.

In this role you will collaborate with our Construction divisions to develop solutions that tackle the toughest construction challenges and meet the needs of our valued customers. You will work independently and collaboratively to help engineers, and contractors, design and build safer, stronger structures, your primary focus will be to support the consulting structural engineering community.

Responsibilities
  • After receiving appropriate training, delivering engineering training presentations to clients and industry groups, highlighting our strengthening solutions, techniques, materials, and services.
  • Participate in web based meetings, in-person meetings, emails, and phone calls to support current and new potential clients, as needed.
  • Laise between our in-house engineering team and the structural engineer to provide design support to structural engineers.
  • Follow up on feedback and inquiries that arise from presentations and other customer facing business development activities.
  • Support structural engineering customers with technical assistance, including specification development, design development, details, and general notes.
  • Attend jobsite walks and pre-bid meetings with clients and our construction divisions.
  • Participate in project review calls, estimating calls and bid calls.
  • Maintain a current pipeline of the opportunities in your territory in the company’s CRM.
  • Update the existing company contact database (CRM) with new contacts obtained from presentations, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Growing the strengthening pipeline by providing technical support on strengthening projects and developing client relationships with structural engineers in the territory.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PE license in CA preferred.
  • Strong communication and public speaking/presentation skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous engineering, construction and/or technical sales experience.
  • Experience as a consulting structural engineer or as a technical business development manager in the commercial and public building markets.
  • Experience working with the structural engineering community and general contracting firms.
  • Strong knowledge of the San Francisco market (including engineering firms, and general contractors).
  • Capable of learning and sharing information on engineered products, their functions, applicability, standards, capabilities and limitations.
  • Local travel 50% of the time.
