The Lending Training Specialist is responsible for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs that support all retail lending functions across the organization. This role ensures lending staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and regulatory understanding necessary to originate, process, underwrite, and service loans in a compliant, efficient, and member-focused manner. This position partners closely with Lending leadership, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure all training aligns with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3โ€“5+ years of experience in lending.
  • 2+ years of experience in training, coaching, or instructional design
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in a financial institution or regulated environment.
  • High level of professionalism and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of lending processes, documentation, and loan lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of applicable lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training tools.
  • Ability to translate complex lending concepts into clear, structured training content.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Support onboarding programs, retraining, and refresher sessions.
  • Provide coaching and reinforcement to support knowledge transfer and application.
  • Maintain curriculum maps and training schedules for lending roles.
  • Track completion, learner performance, and training effectiveness through the Learning Management System (LMS)> Analyze trends and performance data to improve program effectiveness and reduce errors.
  • Incorporate feedback from participants, leadership, and quality reviews into training enhancements.
  • Incorporate federal and state regulatory requirements into all training content (e.g., TILA, RESPA, HMDA, Fair Lending).
  • Manage training assignments, attendance, and completion records in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Generate training reports to support audits, compliance reviews, and leadership reporting.
  • Gather feedback from participants and leaders to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training delivery, materials, and learner engagement.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, system launches, and process changes impacting training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
