Join the team at Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall. As a Dental Assistant within the Military Treatment Facilities, you will provide critical support to dental officers, ensuring high-quality oral healthcare for our service members and their families. This is a permanent, full-time position in the competitive service, utilized under Direct Hire Authority.

Clinical Procedures: Perform intra-oral procedures, take preliminary impressions for study models, remove sutures, and place/remove rubber dams and matrix bands.
Radiology: Operate dental X-ray equipment to produce intra and extra-oral radiographs.
Patient Care: Receive and schedule patients, chart examination/treatment info, and relay instructions from the dentist.
Support & Maintenance: Sterilize instruments, prepare surgical trays, maintain dental equipment, and manage supply levels.
Training: Assist in the clinical training of student dental assistants.

Salary Range

Part-time $16 - $25 per hour

Experience or Education
You must meet one of the following:
Specialized Experience: One year of experience equivalent to the GS-04 level (including intra-oral procedures and operating X-ray equipment).
Education: Completion of a 4-year dental assistant or dental hygiene program with at least 24 semester hours in radiation-related coursework.
Combination: A qualifying mix of the education and experience listed above.
Conditions of Employment
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Health: Requires a pre-employment physical, annual TB testing, and mandatory seasonal influenza/Hepatitis B vaccinations.
Security: Subject to a Tier 1 background investigation and credit check.
Drug Testing: Requires pre-employment urinalysis and random testing thereafter.
Physical: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
