POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Career Ventures, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for a Senior Training Specialist in Arlington, VA. The Senior Training Specialist serves as the on-site lead for theNational Guard Bureau (NGB)Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) contract, overseeing a team of five Training Specialists and ensuring successful day-to-day performance.

This role combines curriculum expertise with supervisory authority, requiring independent judgment to manage staff, coordinate with government stakeholders, and ensure training effectiveness. The Senior Training Specialist is the primary daily point of contact with the customer, representing the Contract Manager in routine communications and operational matters, while the Program Manager retains overall responsibility for contract execution.

  • Training Development: Create and update SAPR training curricula, Training Support Packages (TSPs), and related materials in compliance with DoD directives.
  • Facilitation: Independently design and facilitate SAPR Joint Initial Training events, exercising judgment in adapting content to evolving requirements.
  • Logistics Management: Direct and delegate training logistics responsibilities across the team, providing oversight and final approval.
  • Evaluation: Conduct After-Action Reports, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Compliance Reporting: Track and report on training participation, D-SAACP certification, and refresher training requirements.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend strategic improvements to program leadership.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of five Training Specialists, ensuring workload balance, quality of delivery, and compliance with performance standards.
  • Act as the on-site lead, managing daily operations and staff performance, and serving as the primary point of contact with the customer for routine matters. Escalates significant issues, contract concerns, or formal communications to the Program Manager.
  • Oversee execution of all training events, ensuring content and delivery align with DoD and NGB directives.
  • Coordinate with company leadership and the government COR/POC to ensure timely reporting, issue resolution, and performance compliance.
  • Lead After-Action Reviews and implement strategic improvements across the training program.

Payrate:$80,000 to $85,000 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in training development, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff and manage contract execution in a government or DoD environment.
  • Experience working under the direction of a Program Manager or equivalent, with demonstrated ability to elevate contract or performance matters appropriately. This position reports directly to the Contract Manager for all contract-related authority and direction.
  • Proficiency in curriculum design and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, (e.g. PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote).
  • Familiarity with DoD SAPR policies and D-SAACP certification requirements.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
