Job description

Technologist, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Instructor to support the Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) located at MacDill AFB, FL.
What You Will Do:
โ€ข Independently research, develop, maintain and update materials for complete courses in advanced technical systems.
โ€ข Conduct extensive fact finding and research to select, interpret and adapt complex, detailed training material from various sources such as industry, research laboratories, educational institutions, professional associations, libraries and other agencies to develop complete courses.
โ€ข Develop all course material to include new or modified study guides, visual aids, simulations (mockups and models), written tests, proficiency charts, training aids and course outlines.
โ€ข Update total course materials as changes occur in subject matter special or assigned project.
โ€ข Develop and adapt new or revised training or testing materials for course use.
โ€ข Recommend or establish appropriate scheduling of assigned course or performs coordinative duties as required.
โ€ข Independently develops and updates lesson plans for courses in advanced technical systems.
โ€ข Develops and modifies, as needed, short and long range lesson plans that are complementary to total course content.
โ€ข Assesses impact of new material and coordinates with other courses of instruction.
โ€ข Conducts classroom, laboratory and field instruction for any of the following courses, but are not limited to them: advanced technical systems, proctor and instructor for select Cisco and CompTIA certifications.
โ€ข Forecasts and coordinates operational, logistical and administrative requirements to conduct classroom/field training exercises for students and instructors. Ensures teaching supplies, equipment, and classrooms/training areas are available and operational at the allotted time
โ€ข Uses training aids such as training models and devises to enhance training outcome. Frequently introduces innovative and new approaches to establish classroom techniques.
โ€ข Monitors and evaluates student progress in courses in advanced technical systems. Classroom environment is technical and subject matter highly specialized.
โ€ข Prepares and administers formal and informal tests or quizzes. Reviews them for accuracy and appropriateness of material coverage and student understanding of the material.
โ€ข Observes student classroom/field activities and participation. Provides guidance to students and student projects. Maintains attendance information.
โ€ข As necessary, counsels students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude or participation.
Requirements
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology OR eight years of related experience.
โ€ข Seven years of progressive experience in their discipline
โ€ข Three or more years of consecutive teaching experience (any formal
โ€ข instructor/teaching education)
โ€ข Applicable training and/or current certifications for the specified discipline, e.g. CCNP, MCSA, or current equivalents
โ€ข Ability to obtain SECRET CLEARANCE (Must be a U.S. citizen)
