Training & Development Manager โ€“ Manufacturing

Our client, a global leader in manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Training & Development Manager to design, implement, and manage training initiatives that build a highly skilled, safety-focused, and performance-driven workforce. This role will lead efforts to standardize training processes, develop leadership capabilities, and support digital transformation projects for the Charleston site. The ideal candidate will have strong experience creating SOPs, establishing training standards, and implementing feedback systems. Experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a standardized training and qualification process to support digital transformation initiatives (MES, SAP, ASRS) with a global deployment vision.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, HR, and IT to define competency models, skills, and behaviors for each process and equipment type.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training guidelines that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and process owners to ensure training content accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
  • Pilot, refine, and roll out training programs for floor associates, team leads, and leadership.
  • Establish and maintain a central repository for all training content with strong version control and accessibility.
  • Implement and monitor feedback systems, assessments, and performance metrics to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the rollout of leadership and people skills training, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Act as liaison with global digital transformation teams to ensure consistent execution of training initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Education, Organizational Development, or related field (Masterโ€™s preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in learning and development, ideally within a regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, or food industry environment.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, piloting, and refining technical and leadership training programs.
  • Strong background in SOP creation, standards development, and training documentation.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging training content.
  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO quality standards preferred.
