Job description

Position Summary
Axis is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Training Media Specialist to design, develop, produce, and maintain engaging training content and digital learning experiences for employees across the organization. This role combines video production, 3D animation, instructional design, eLearning development, and multimedia content creation to deliver high-quality learning solutions that support workforce development, safety, compliance, onboarding, competency development, and operational excellence. The Training Media Specialist will collaborate with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Human Resources (HR), Operations, Training & Development, and subject matter experts to transform technical and business information into clear, practical, and visually engaging training materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Multimedia Production
  • Plan, script, storyboard, film, edit, and produce professional training videos and multimedia assets.
  • Create 3D animations, visual simulations, graphics, and other visual learning tools that make technical and skills-based training easier to understand.
  • Conduct on-site video shoots at operating facilities, field locations, training sites, shops, classrooms, and office locations.
  • Capture and edit video, audio, photographs, screen recordings, and other digital media assets for training use.
  • Organize and maintain media libraries, source files, templates, graphics, photos, and final deliverables with appropriate version control.
  • eLearning Development
  • Develop eLearning courses and digital learning modules for technical, operational, compliance, safety, onboarding, competency, and professional development training.
  • Convert training materials into SCORM-compliant learning modules and publish content within the Learning Management System (LMS) or other approved training platforms.
  • Build interactive assessments, quizzes, knowledge checks, course activities, and learner reinforcement tools.
  • Test, troubleshoot, update, and refresh eLearning content to ensure technical functionality, accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with current company practices.
  • Content Development and Collaboration
  • Design instructional materials that support adult learning principles, defined training objectives, safety expectations, compliance requirements, and approved operating procedures.
  • Assist with participant guides, workbooks, job aids, quick-reference guides, presentations, reference materials, and facilitator resources.
  • Collaborate with HSE, HR, Operations, Training & Development, and subject matter experts to ensure training materials are accurate, engaging, practical, and aligned with company standards.
  • Support curriculum development, continuous improvement initiatives, live training events, workshops, meetings, and presentations by preparing media assets and assisting with audiovisual setup as needed.
  • Use AI tools, when appropriate and in accordance with company expectations, for script generation, video enhancement, translation, content development, and workflow efficiency.
  • Manage assigned projects by tracking timelines, communicating status updates, meeting deadlines, and maintaining confidentiality when working with company information.
  • Travel up to 25% to field locations, operational facilities, training sites, and company offices as business needs require.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Production, Communications, Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources Development, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience developing multimedia, video, digital learning, instructional, or training content in a corporate, industrial, educational, or similar environment preferred.
  • Experience with video editing, screen recording, graphic design, presentation, animation, and eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Articulate, Captivate, Canva, Blender, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of camera, lighting, audio, and production equipment used for training video and digital media development.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, SCORM-compliant content, online course publishing, digital training file management, and basic learning accessibility practices preferred.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, visual design judgment, and ability to manage multiple media projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate complex information into clear, practical learning materials.
  • Professional integrity, sound judgment, confidentiality, and commitment to producing accurate, compliant, and high-quality training content.
