The Senior Manager of Application development and Power Platform is responsible for leading the Application Development and Power Platform engineering teams in the design, development, modernization, deployment, and support of enterprise business solutions. This role provides strategic leadership and technical direction for software engineering, solution architecture, application modernization, AI-enabled development, automation, and platform governance. The position is accountable for building and developing high-performing engineering teams while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.

Responsibilities
  • Drive application modernization, cloud transformation, automation, AI-enabled development, and platform engineering initiatives across business applications and Power Platform solutions. Develop and execute technology roadmaps that improve business outcomes, engineering productivity, solution scalability, operational efficiency, and long-term platform sustainability.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Application Development and Power Platform engineers. Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence.
  • Provide technical and people leadership for assigned teams, including establishing and tracking goals and objectives, assigning work, identifying training and development needs, facilitating performance reviews, developing succession plans, and ensuring accountability for individual and team performance and deliverables. Manage staffing needs and determine appropriate resource allocation across projects, operational support, modernization initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  • Establish and govern application, integration, automation, AI, and platform architecture standards. Provide technical leadership and design oversight to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles and business objectives.
  • Implement and enforce software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, security, testing, quality, and operational standards to ensure reliable, secure, and supportable solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, and Product teams to define technology strategies, delivery priorities, solution roadmaps, and platform investments aligned to business objectives.
  • Develop, track, and communicate engineering, delivery, operational, quality, reliability, adoption, and productivity metrics. Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage vendor relationships, consulting partners, and external service providers to ensure alignment with organizational goals, delivery commitments, service expectations, and budget objectives.
  • Lead the evaluation, adoption, and governance of emerging technologies and engineering practices.
  • Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, platform engineering, and AI-assisted development practices.
  • Oversee governance, administration, lifecycle management, and operational standards for Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, and related platform capabilities.
  • Champion engineering excellence through architecture reviews, technical standards, code quality practices, and operational maturity.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps supporting application modernization, automation, cloud adoption, and AI-driven business capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, data governance, risk management, and operational support requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI to improve business processes and outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or a related disciple required
  • Master's Degree in computer science, engineering or a related disciple preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, platform engineering, or related technology disciplines required
  • 5+ years of experience managing software engineering, application development, or technical engineering teams required
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and modern software engineering practices required
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, APIs, integration technologies, and modern software architectures required
  • Demonstrated expertise in solution architecture, engineering standards, and technical governance practices required
  • Proven ability to evaluate, implement, or lead AI-enabled software development, intelligent automation, developer productivity tools, and emerging AI technologies within an enterprise environment required
  • Background leading application modernization, digital transformation, or cloud migration initiatives preferred
  • Ability to manage vendors, consultants, and external delivery partners preferredFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure, .NET, Power Platform, Dataverse, and Copilot technologies preferred
  • Knowledge of event-driven, service-oriented, and API-first architectures preferred
