Travel Insured International is a leading travel insurance provider with more than 25 years in business. As a key component of our Small Business Unit, within the Accident & Health division, TII provides travel protection plans to help each individual travel confidently. What you will do:
  • The Business Development Manager (BDM) maintains and expands relationships with accounts within assigned territory. Accounts will produce between 1 million and 5 million in annual leisure sales. This annual leisure sales amount will in turn produce between $25,000 and $100,000 annual in travel insurance premium. The BDM is responsible for achieving a sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives
  • Develop and execute penetration strategies that are in-line with the company's overall sales strategy
  • Maintain strong and effective long-term relationships that are consistent and continue to evolve with company objectives
  • Effectively manage travel partner relationships and set/achieve growth targets through regular contact and informative communication via innovative sales calls appropriately designed to manage a large territory
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and understand the overall marketplace, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic and industry trends, etc.
  • Leverage technology and social media platforms to provide robust training and elevate engagement with our Brand; seize any virtual training opportunities in an effort to reach the largest audience as possible
  • Focus on time management in an effort to create the greatest revenue generating opportunities that support regional growth
  • Respond to customer needs and process all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate ROI of trade shows and consumer events; participate when identified as valuable
  • Ensure that marketing collateral is utilized effectively and efficiently; manage inventory and distribution appropriately
  • Utilize company CRM tools to maintain territory database, record sales activities, distribute travel partner production reports and manage e-mail communication
  • Coordinate and oversee marketing initiatives executed by travel partners.
  • Efficiently manage a sales and cooperative marketing budget inside established guidelines while mindful of policies and procedures
  • Attend and actively participate in any national or regional sales meetings, including, when scheduled for Sales attendance
  • Submit biweekly report to Business Center Leader which summarizes the competitive environment in their Region, to advise management of any specific problems that need attention, and report any trends or observations of any kind they feel are important for management to be aware of that affect company goals
  • Submit Expense reports with all needed backup in a timely fashion and comply with company guidelines regarding expense procedures
  • Handle related job functions as requested
  • Responsible for travel a minimum of 50% of the time is crucial for this job. Travel by plane and car is required depending on the location of client opportunity. Travel includes, but is not limited to, attending meetings, trade shows, supplier functions, company meetings, training functions both in destination and in the territory. Total amount of travel is expected to be 85 - 100 days.

  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in travel or hospitality sales
  • Existing, deep bonds with key travel partners a plus
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Salesforce.com is a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time by car, plane and/or train
