Job description

Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team in Houston, TX. The Inpatient Psychiatrist will provide recovery-oriented care to Veterans who are admitted acutely to the 73-bed mental health inpatient program for stabilization of psychiatric symptoms. This staff psychiatrist will work on an interdisciplinary academic mental health team treating Veterans with a full range of diagnosis including mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and neurocognitive disorders. Our affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine, will provide opportunities to serve as a rotation supervisor for Baylor College of Medicine trainees, as well as involvement in didactic courses.
