The 'remote' aspect means that the work can be performed from home or another location outside of a traditional office. These roles typically provide on-the-job training and may require completion of a certification program or coursework in medical billing and coding.

Familiarity with medical billing software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and sometimes HIPAA compliance certification is typically required. Strong organizational skills, communication, and the ability to work independently are important soft skills in this remote role.
