Job description

Description:

Optimus Property Management, Inc. (www.opminc.com), is looking for a Maintenance Trainee to join our team and begin a hands-on apprenticeship in multifamily property maintenance.

This entry-level role is designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career in maintenance and skilled technician work. After successfully completing the trainee program, you will be promoted to Handyman with an increase in pay and a clear path toward Maintenance Technician, Advanced Technician, and potential supervisory roles.

As a Maintenance Trainee, you will work closely with an experienced maintenance technician who will train you in all core areas of property maintenance. You will shadow daily work, learn each property’s unique needs, and assist with repairs, preventive maintenance, unit preparation, work orders, and general building operations. Candidate must have a basic set of tools before their first day of work.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

· Willingness to learn and take direction in a hands-on, fast-paced maintenance environment

· Basic mechanical aptitude, comfort using tools, even if informal (home projects, automotive, etc.)

· Strong reliability, time management, and ability to follow established processes

· Good communication skills and a positive, customer-service mindset when interacting with residents

and team members

· Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or materials as needed, and comfortable working at multiple

properties throughout the day

· Pick-up and delivery of materials and supplies, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned

· Maintain cleanliness at all work sites

· Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit various locations/job sites

· Proficient in English

· Authorized to work in the US

Compensation:

· $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience

· Promotion to handyman, pay increase, and $250 bonus after successfully completing the trainee program

· $500 bonus after one year of consistent employment

· Mileage Reimbursement

· Monthly phone stipend
