Lease Operator (LO) Job Description
Position Classification: Safety-Sensitive
Driving Requirement: This position requires regular operation of company vehicles. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
Physical Requirements: Capable of responding quickly and appropriately to potentially hazardous situations. Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds, with sufficient visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication abilities. Able to climb ladders and stairwells up to 15 feet in height. Able to work effectively in both hot and cold weather conditions.

Foundational Skills, Training, and Basic Field Operations
Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform all duties in a safety-sensitive role, adhering to all company safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Safely operate company vehicles while traveling to and from lease sites.
• Conduct daily well checks and monitor production on assigned leases.
• Accurately gauge tanks and perform color cuts.
• Understand directional flow, pressures, tank levels, and verify production data against system inputs (eVIN/Field Ops, Ignition/zdSCADA).
• Perform basic maintenance and field tasks, including:
o Changing stuffing box rubbers
o Pulling and inspecting plungers
o Adjusting, monitoring, and reporting chemical rates
o Repairing and kitting basic equipment
• Maintain clean, orderly, and environmentally compliant lease sites.
• Basic operation of artificial lift methods: pumping units, gas lifts, ESPs, PAGL, and flowing wells.
• Use and data entry in production systems (eVIN, Ignition).
• Basic understanding of oilfield equipment and terminology.
• Maintain company-issued tools, phone, computer, and vehicle.
• Demonstrate integrity, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
